RIDING CLUB

Recently, we have formed the SRS Riding Club, Inc., a membership amateur athletic equestrian riding and driving club. This is your opportunity to get in on the beginning of a new club and drive its future.

Membership

What does this mean for you? As a membership organization, we want you and your interested family members to benefit from joining the SRS Riding Club. For a small annual fee, club members will:

• attend special clinics or field trips at no or minimal cost (e.g., dressage clinics, equitation lessons, Horse World Expo, etc.);
• participate in 1-2 events/year for no or minimal cost for members (e.g., SRS Riding Club-sponsored trail ride and shows);
• enjoy a percentage of class costs covered at the Morgan Grand Nationals in Oklahoma City, OK in October;
• have lunch provided prior to schooling shows;
• receive quarterly newsletters; and
• enjoy an annual club-sponsored party.

Because this club has just formed, we are taking applications for membership between now and May 15. Ongoing, memberships are renewable on an annual basis no later than April 1 of each year. A single membership is $15.00 and a family membership of 2 or more immediate family members is $20.00.

Leadership

The SRS Riding Club has appointed 6 Board of Directors to organize the club. The current Board of Directors and Officers of the Board are:

• Roxann Baldwin, President (2-year term)
• Kristina Baldwin, Vice President (2-year term)
• Lesli Corbin, Secretary (1-year term)
• Roxann Baldwin, Treasurer (1-year term)
• Cheryl Dodd, Director at large (1-year term)
• Barbara Wolinski, Director at large (1-year term)
• James Baldwin, Director at large (1-year term)

We will hold an annual meeting at the end of the calendar year to nominate and elect new and renewed members to the Board for the next year. If you are interested in serving, don’t hesitate to pursue a nomination!

Committees

Since the club will be involved in many activities, we have established several standing committees of the club to handle various duties. We are seeking interested club members to join a committee for this year. If you are interested in joining any of the following, please email us at srsridingclub@sweetrockstables.com.

Drill Team

Co-chairs: Roxann Baldwin and Kristina Baldwin

• will pursue competitive drill team events
• set practice dates; and
• coordinate exhibitions.

Morgan Midget Youth Group

• will organize the youth into an active organization of the AMHA; and
• will pursue community, educational, fundraising and promotional events of the group and the AMHA.

Morgan Midget Blue Ribbon Club

• will organize the youth’s activities to compete in annual educational events sponsored by the AMHA; and
• will organize the youth’s activities pertaining to AMHA’s Blue Ribbon Club of the Year.

Technology and Website Committee

• will create an SRS Riding Club webpage;
• will assist with maintenance of the SRS Riding Club site.

Special Events Committee

• will organize the club-sponsored events including trail ride, horse show, and annual party.

Fundraising Committee

• will plan fundraising activities for the club
• will coordinate vendor donations
• will handle direct marketing donations campaign
• will assemble fundraising items for events

As you can see, there are many opportunities for you to loan your skills, expertise and interest in any number of activities! Get involved and let the committee chairs know of your interest!
